Seddon Homes - Wins Housebuilder of the year award
Seddon Homes fought off fierce competition
last week to lift the highly coveted Housebuilder of the Year
Award at the annual Housing Excellence Awards.
The glittering event, held at Mere Golf and Country Club,
celebrates excellence across the housing spectrum, and
recognises those who have distinguished themselves in both the
social and private housing sectors.
After fulfilling stringent competition criteria, Seddon Homes
was shortlisted with another three housebuilders before a panel
of distinguished judges decided Seddon Homes to be the clear
winner of this top category.
Chris Newbould, Editor of Northern, Southern and Midlands
Housing, says: “The judges were particularly impressed by
Seddon’s commitment to innovative design, both for homes and
estates and its use of modern construction techniques, without
compromise to build quality.
“Care of both staff and customers were also outstanding, as was
its commitment to building sustainable communities and
eco-friendly practices with minimal environmental impact.”
Ken Whitaker, Managing Director at Seddon Homes, says: “We are
absolutely thrilled to be announced as Housebuilder of the Year
and to be recognised for all the hard work the team has done
over the past year. We’ve strived to become leaders in customer
care and build quality, and this award only serves to highlight
these endeavours.
“It is a delight and honour to accept the award; it really is
testament to the achievements of Seddon Homes and provides us
with a stepping stone to continue to improve the services and
products we already offer within the housebuilding industry.”
Covering a wide breadth of products, from innovative Eco-Homes
in Prestwich to luxury stone-built mansion houses on the
outskirts of Bolton, Seddon Homes offers an extensive
cross-section of properties. This is further highlighted with
the ongoing success at its Tanglewood development in
Tytherington, Macclesfield and The Green in Congleton.
This award follows the group’s success at last year’s Housing
Excellence Awards. Inspired Developments, the regeneration arm
of the Seddon Group, won Best Regeneration Scheme for its
project on Rufford Road in Liverpool.
The Seddon Group is one of the UK’s major privately owned
construction groups, with a turnover in excess of £240M,
employing 1,700 people. The Group is a family owned and managed
business, established in 1897, operating nationally with
headquarters in the North West.
