Icopal Systems - Breaths lightly with Monaperm 500

Icopal has extended its range of Anderson Monarflex pitched roof breather membranes with the launch of Monarperm 500.
The 500 series is a lean version of the renowned 700 marque, with corresponding high-performance. It eliminates the need for traditional eaves/ridge ventilation in warm or cold pitched roofs while helping to meet the Part L Building Regulations by improving airtightness and reducing energy consumption.
Monarperm 500 comprises a special three-layer composite structure with a unique microporous film that provides an effective role in condensation control without the need to vent.
BBA certified and waterproof to over six metres’ head of water, Monarperm 500’s high tensile strength and puncture resistance make it ideal for fully or partially supported roofs on new-build and refurbishment projects.
It is UV stable, featuring a grey top side and white underside, and available in 1m and 1.5m-wide rolls (x 50m) which makes it easier and quicker to install. It is the roofer’s choice, being cost-effective without conceding in performance.
Monarperm 500 will prove popular with architects too because it negates the need to blemish the architectural integrity of the building with additional ventilation.
It will also play a significant role, especially when specified with ALB 200 air leakage barrier or HLB 200 heat leakage barrier, in achieving the higher levels of the new Code for Sustainable Homes.
Monarperm 500’s grey topside is now likely to become as familiar a sight on roofs throughout the UK and Ireland as Monarperm 700’s blue.
