Three varieties of Canadian roofing slate are
available exclusively from Cembrit Blunn in the UK. The
range, comprised of Trinity, Glacier and Glendyne
natural slates, offers roofing specifiers, stockists and
installers an unrivalled choice of high quality slate
delivering first-class performance and authenticity for
the demanding UK new-build and roofing restoration
market.

slate industry, our comprehensive Canadian slate range
is available ex-stock to specifiers, stockists and
installers and supplies look good for the foreseeable

Blunn. “Canadian slate has similar qualities to Welsh
slate, it is consistent, ‘easy-to-work’ and, for that
reason, ideal for the UK market.”
Trinity is available in green and heather-blue. It is
produced at Burgoyne’s Cove Newfoundland, Canada.
Glendyne is a distinctive blue-grey, and along with
Glacier which is also blue-grey, is produced in the town
of Saint Marc du Lac Long, Quebec, Canada. The quarry
was first opened by British slate quarreymen in the
early part of the 20th Century and roofs with Glendyne
slate can still be seen in the area today, some 90 years
later.
All natural slates from Cembrit Blunn are tested to the
new BS EN European standard, BS EN 12326-1:2004. The
Standard requires many of the laboratory tests (‘type
testing’) to be performed at least annually and the
factory production control (FPC) tests should be
performed and recorded as a matter of routine by the
producer.
Cembrit Blunn’s product range not only includes natural
