ACE welcomes John Armitt as new chairman of Olympic Delivery Authority

association, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering
(ACE), today welcomed the appointment of Network Rail chief
executive John Armitt as the new chairman of the Olympic
Delivery Authority (ODA).
Commenting on the appointment, ACE chief executive Nelson
Ogunshakin said: “We welcome John’s appointment to this
critically important role and wish him every success." Armitt,
who is also a member of ACE’s advisory group, will take up his
position at the ODA on 1 September after leaving Network Rail in
July.
Ogunshakin continued: "I believe that the ODA has chosen well.
John’s wide-ranging experience of project leadership and
delivery and his ability to deal with complex stakeholders will
stand him in good stead for this new challenge. ACE looks
forward to building on our already good relationship with John
and to working with him to help deliver the 2012 programme.”
