Polyflor Ltd - Prestige colours ideal for hospital wayfinding
A variety of bright colours from the
Polyflor Prestige PUR range - part of Polyflor’s flagship family
of polish-free heavy duty vinyl floorcoverings - proved ideal
for a geometric wayfinding floor design in a new build cardiac
unit at Southampton General Hospital.
“We created an interior design wayfinding strategy for the
hospital which involved geometric design and distinctive
colour,” said Building Design Partnership’s Lee Cheong.
“Polyflor’s Prestige range offered us a collection of bright and
contemporary colours in a non-directional design which really
enhanced that strategy.”
Featuring a choice of 16 colours with an innovative,
non-directional decorative appearance created by combining
duotone base chips with two tonal highlight chips for a
brighter, cleaner, fresher appearance, Polyflor Prestige PUR is
ideally suited to busy health care, educational and commercial
environments.
In common with other ranges in the Polyflor polish-free
collection - Mystique PUR, Classic Mystique PUR and 2000 PUR -
Polyflor Prestige PUR features a high quality polyurethane
reinforcement which, combined with a superior closed surface
finish, facilitates a low cost, polish-free maintenance regime
for the lifetime of the floorcovering, achieving cost savings of
up to 48%.
All these products, together with Polyflor XL PU, Standard XL
and all Polysafe safety floors, have been independently tested
and results demonstrate that they inhibit the growth of MRSA. An
effective cleaning regime is however, the most important defence
against infection.
Polyflor Prestige PUR meets the performance requirements of EN
649 and, fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, is
certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1
8kw/m2 and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO
11925-2 pass. The flooring also features homogeneous monolayer
construction for even wear and 100% useful life.
In common with all Polyflor sheet vinyls, Polyflor Prestige PUR
can be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create
continuous impervious surfaces which offer no sanctuary to dirt
and bacteria.
