Fläkt Woods Limited - Fläkt Woods opens new factory in China
As part of its continued worldwide
expansion, Fläkt Woods has established a wholly owned subsidiary
in China. The investment in a 13,800 sq feet (4,200 sq meter)
factory will allow Fläkt Woods to better serve its Chinese and
Far Eastern customers.
The factory, located in Wuxi, is equipped to offer a wide range
of high quality ventilation products. The three main product
lines are axial fans, air handling units, and air valves. With
technology transfer from UK, Korea, and Finland and extensive
investments in machinery, the plant has significant value
addition and quick response times. It will supply the Chinese
markets as well as exports to other countries in Asia and
elsewhere.
The opening ceremony takes place on the 9th May where Fläkt
Woods Group CEO Mr. Didier Forget accompanied by high-ranking
local officials and dignitaries will carry out proceedings.
Local suppliers and a number of key customers will also be in
attendance. The ceremony is preceded with welcome speeches as
well as a tour of the facilities followed by lunch for all
attendees.
“As a Group, we have step by step made more investments to help
develop our position in Asia. Three years ago we set up a local
sourcing organization to develop a supplier network in China,
India and other so called Low Cost Countries in the region. We
have two large factories in India, but so far nothing in China
where we have relied on imported products for the local market.”

supplier network already established and with high quality
machinery, fill a gap for us and provides a solid base for the
continued growth of our business in Asia. Asia already accounts
for 20% of our total business and with strong market outlook
across the region, we expect this percentage to grow”, says
Didier Forget, CEO of Fläkt Woods.

factories in Europe is sometimes difficult for cost and time
reasons and with this new factory we are in a position to give
our local customers a more competitive offering. We see in China
and other Asian markets an increased demand for quality products
and expect strong demand for the products we can offer from
