Ask Life - New Life for Ashton?
Residential Developer Ask Life Submits
Plans for Apartment Scheme at St Petersfield
Ask Life has submitted plans for its first phase of 72 stunning
city-style apartments as part of the £42m St Petersfield scheme
in the up-and-coming district of Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside.
The Ask Life apartments will form an integral part of a new
urban quarter which is part of the larger scheme currently being
developed by Ask Life’s innovative parent company, Ask
Developments. The scheme has newly completed public landscaped
areas, overlooking a striking water fountain.
The one and two bedroom apartments, with prices starting from
around £110,000, will be developed in the first of two separate
blocks, all featuring fully-fitted luxury bathrooms with ceramic
wall and floor tiling and modern contemporary kitchens, complete
with stainless steel appliances.
Plans for the second phase of 150 apartments in the second block
will be submitted at a later date.
Interiors have been designed by LRW interior designers, and will
be built in accordance with Ask Life’s quality and attention to
detail - and will include features such as extra room in the
living area, thanks to the elimination of ‘dead’ corridor space.
Most apartments will benefit from balconies and some will have
roof terraces and even a small number with winter gardens. The
scheme’s location offers easy access to the transport links into
Manchester city centre and is close to the M60 motorway network
and Ashton train station.
Duncan Bowman, Director of Ask Life said: “This scheme is in one
of Greater Manchester’s up-and-coming areas which has witnessed
a great deal of regeneration in the last year or so. The
residential scheme complements the St Petersfield scheme
perfectly and we want to help create a new district that people
will be proud to live and work in.
“The apartments will benefit from the excellent location and
stunning landscaping. As with all Ask Life schemes, they will be
of a very high standard but within a price-range that the
majority, not the few, can afford.”
If plans are granted, work on the first phase of the residential
development will begin in late summer 2007.
Once complete, the overall St Petersfield scheme, which is being
delivered through a public/private partnership between Tameside
Council, Ask Developments, Northwest Regional Development Agency
(NWDA) and English Partnerships, will provide 280,000 sq ft of
high quality office space, and retail and leisure amenities
totalling 400,000 sq ft.
