Weatherite Building Services Ltd - Weatherite Wins £100,000 kitchen contracts in Reading
Weatherite, the West Midlands based building services group,
has completed a series of contracts involving the design and
installation of kitchen extract systems for Reading Borough
Council.
The contracts worth over £100,000 were part of a major
upgrading by the local authority of kitchen ventilation at 14
schools and three residential homes for elderly people.
We won the initial tenders on price but the follow up work
resulted from our ability to deliver a quality product on time,
says Mike Turton, sales director of Weatherite Building
Services.
The agreement with De Kobra which has a factory at Opwijk in
Belgium covers not only canopy designs but a complete kitchen
ventilation package for the UK commercial sector.
This includes a distribution system which enables various
utilities such as gas, electricity and water to be brought
together in a single stainless steel fabricated unit.
WBS is part of the £30m Midlands based Weatherite group which
specialises in the design and manufacture of packaged air
conditioning equipment and air handling units.
More recently, the company has expanded its activities to cover
other sectors of the building services market.
We now offer a single source choice to all members of the
supply chain including project management, design, installation
and commissioning facilities, explains Mr Turton.
This covers not only air conditioning equipment but also
ventilation, fire protection, heating, water and control
systems.
Other Weatherite products and services include control panels,
electrical contracting, shopfronts and shutters, fire doors,
rooflights and glazing systems.
