Carillion stadium scoops award

Carillion has scooped a Contract of the Year award for its £32m
state-of-the-art sports centre in Doncaster.
The sports complex was a design and construct project, located
to the south of Doncaster city centre.
Both Carillion’s regional civil engineering and regional
building business units worked on the project and scooped the
Civil Engineering Contractors Association (Yorkshire &
Humberside Region) annual award for Civil Engineering projects
greater than £1M.The centre features a 15,000-seat community
stadium, three full size, natural grass pitches, eight
artificial pitches for five-a-side football, a full size
artificial pitch which can be sub-divided into three,
seven-a-side pitches, track and field facilities, a 500 seat
mini stand and 1,000 car park spaces.
The iconic bowl-shaped stadium is set in landscaped grounds and
will provide a number of educational and community uses.
The complex will be home to Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster Lakers,
Doncaster Belles and Doncaster Athletics Club.
