At SHE 2007, Bacou-Dalloz will be showing a selection of their
latest products, demonstrating how they remain the most

New Ultra-lightweight Safety Spectacles from Pulsafe
Protégé is the latest innovation in the Pulsafe safety
spectacles range. It utilises the latest design and materials
technology to provide ultra-lightweight safety spectacles with a
flexible fit comfortable for long periods, yet tough enough to
provide good impact protection in a range of manufacturing
environments. The floating lens gives excellent ventilation to
prevent fogging and there is a choice of three different lenses
and two anti-fog lenses. Anti-scratch coatings are available
too.
Protégé is ideal for general use but particularly suitable for
utilities, light and heavy manufacturing, biotechnology labs and
production, ship building and automotive manufacturing.
Extreme Environment Harnesses
Miller® has literally taken fall protection safety levels to new
heights with two new ¡§Extreme Environment¡¨ harnesses.
The Miller Atex harness and Miller Kevlar® harness both address
critical safety issues for those working at height in high-risk
environments such as the petro-chemical industries; mining;
fire-fighting and offshore. Both have been designed with the
safety, comfort and work demands of the wearer as priorities in
already difficult environments.
The Atex Anti-Static harness is ideal for those working at
height in a potentially explosive atmosphere. It is made from a
special anti-static material which eliminates the risk of an
electrostatic discharge (which can be created as the worker
moves around) igniting the explosive atmosphere.
The Miller Kevlar harness provides exceptional heat and fire
resistance for anyone working at height in a high-risk
environment such as fire-fighting, welding, defence and offshore
applications.
Special flame retardant Nomex® webbing protects against weld
splatter and sparks while a tough yellow Kevlar inner core adds
strength and is high temperature resistant (withstands working
temperatures of up to 177°C).
All the Miller extreme environment harnesses are compliant with
EN 361 (2002). The ATEX harness is also compliant with the
European Directive ATEX/94/9/CE in accordance with EN 13464-1
and EN 13463-1 (2003).
New Optifit Masks & Respirator
Willson has introduced two new Optifit masks ¡V the Optifit
Twin, a full face mask with twin filters and Optifit APR, a full
face Air Purifying Respirator (APR) Mask. Both provide excellent
respiratory protection against a range of contaminants,
depending on the filter type fitted, but also come in three
sizes so it will fit comfortably on almost any face shape or
size.
Optifit masks are specified to the highest levels, all with
wearer comfort, functionality and safety uppermost in mind ¡V
e.g. the Twin has a Click-Fit system for the wearer to check
secure installation of the filter. Both the Twin and APR models
have a full face polycarbonate visor for excellent all-round
vision and the U-shape seal makes correct positioning easy and
comfortable. A built-in speech diaphragm gives easy
communication with fellow workers while a silicon exhalation
valve ensures no re-inhalation and aids communication.
Optifit masks are easy to dismount and assemble for regular
cleaning and testing purposes and meets the EN 136 standard.
The Willson MX/PF F950 respirator has a large, triple seal for a
superior fit while the silicone face piece with its pleated
design makes it comfortable for long periods and able to fit
most face shapes. The pleated design also allows for facial
movement while speaking without compromising the seal and the
mouth-level exhalation valve also aids communication. The MX/PF
F950 respirator is easy to assemble and maintain.
Optrel OS100 Welding Helmet
The Optrel OS100 welding helmet gives the wearer total,
all-around eye and respiratory protection while working. It
prevents inhalation of dangerous fumes by supplying clean air at
a constant rate after being drawn through a particle filter with
a fan, powered by a rechargeable battery. This also cools the
head and prevents fogging. Audible and visual alarms act if the
air flow level or battery power drops or a filter is clogged.
The Optrel OS100 also offers the best in welding helmet eye
protection with is Auto Darkening Filter activating within
milliseconds of arc ignition. The mask protects against UV and
IR radiation with an adjustable shade index that can be altered
for different tasks without removing the helmet.
The helmet is ergonomically designed and balanced to minimise
strain on the neck when worn for long periods. The compact air
filter and power unit are incorporated into a lightweight waist
belt, so movement is unrestricted. The supply hose fits snugly
against the back to minimise the risk of snagging on surrounding
equipment. It is also made from flame-resistant material.
New Gloves from Perfect Fit
The Tuffshield Evolution™ glove from Perfect Fit gives a very
high level of protection against cuts with good manual
dexterity, fitting literally like a second skin. Ideal for the
food preparation industry and paper industry where good touch
sense is required; Tuffshield Evolution is a knitted glove with
a Powercuff™ knitted wrist for a perfect fit. Made from an
innovative combination of Dyneema®, glass, and stainless steel,
the Tuffshield Evolution also contains anti-bacterial polyamide
fibres to prevent bacterial growth or contamination.
The DexGrip Light from Perfect Fit also gives a high level of
manual dexterity combined with good grip, making it ideal for
handling slippery, damp or greasy components, often found in the
building, waste collection and farming industries. A polyamide /
cotton knitted glove with a ventilated back, the DexGrip Light
has a blue crepe latex coating on the palm and fingertips for
extra grip, without compromising dexterity.
