Kee Klamp Ltd's Keenect® system is the smart choice for Housing Association project
Reading-based Kee Klamp Ltd has completed a
significant refurbishment project at a residential property in
Cowplain, Hampshire managed by the Hermitage Housing
Association. The installation of the leading Keenect®
balustrading system has satisfied important safety and aesthetic
criteria for this three storey apartment block.
Situated in the North-East of Waterlooville on Padnell Avenue,
the building consists of twelve apartments. The Hermitage
Housing Association is committed to improving the living
environment of all its residents, and specified the stylish and
hard-wearing Keenect® system for the internal staircase to
replace the existing balustrading in the building.
Extending approximately 60 metres in length, the Keenect® system
ensures a strong, smooth and reliable handrail for all users.
The system’s turquoise colour provides the perfect finishing
touch to the communal stairwell, giving a smart,
aesthetically-pleasing and high visibility appearance. The
system also features attractive glass in-fill panels further
enhancing safety for all users.
The Keenect® system is fully modular, requiring virtually no
welding, and no cutting or bending on-site, helping to
significantly reduce time and minimise disruption inside the
residential building, where the system coped ably with the
required changes in angle and direction. A handrail connector is
inserted into the handrail whenever a change in direction is
required. Any combination of elbows can be attached to this
connector forming a strong, sleek, smooth joint and allowing
very tight bends.
The system offers a smooth finish with no visible joints to
achieve an aesthetically attractive appearance. In addition to
the glass in-fill options used on this project, the Keenect®
system can be supplied with an extensive range of additional
in-fills and a comprehensive selection of colours to suit
different tastes. The Keenect® system is ideal for interior and
exterior applications, such as staircases, landings, ramps,
balconies and parapets. The modular Keenect® system is available
in a full range of polyester powder coated colour finishes of
RAL colours.
Kee Klamp Ltd's Keenect® system meets the relevant sections in
standards, BS8300, BS6180, BS6399 Part 1 and the Building
